What does Positive Check-In Mean?

The Erin Block Memorial Meet was a positive check meet.  This means the swimmer has to sign in saying they are there to swim.  There is a certain amount of time given to do this, and once past this time, if the swimmer has not signed in, they will be removed from that session (i.e., they will not be allowed to swim).

For the Erin Block meet, the positive check-in sheets will be posted on the wall, past the double glass doors that lead to the locker rooms (on the first floor of the UIAC).  The swimmer needs to make a large circle around their name and the events they are swimming.  The swimmer needs to make sure their line does not cross into another swimmers line, but also make sure their circle is dark enough to see.  If a swimmer wants to swim some events, but not others, the swimmer only circles the events they want to swim.  Please don't try to blacken out the events they don't want to swim as it makes it hard to read.  If the swimmer wants to emphasize they are not swimming an event, make an X over the event number in addition to NOT circling it will suffice.  Aquachief swimmers should talk to your coach before scratching out of an event.

Make sure your swimmer does this check-in right when they arrive at the meet.  The meet announcer will be announcing when positive check-in closes.  In general, positive check-in closes 15 minutes after warm-up starts.  So don't be late to warm-ups, be early to allow time for check-in.
